Tamara Klink
Nominated for the 21st Century Adventurer Award 2027
Solo-Sailor & Adventurer
Some people choose their limits—Tamara Klink chooses her oceans. She spent eight months overwintering solo in the Greenland pack ice aboard her boat "Sardinha 2", became the youngest woman and first South American to sail solo through the Northwest Passage, and has already crossed the Atlantic solo twice. On her expeditions, she battles storms, extreme temperatures, insomnia, and constant fear. Klink combines these extreme solo sailing feats with a clear stance on the climate crisis, which she contextualizes firsthand through conversations with Indigenous communities and her own observations. She is also a strong advocate for women in sailing. She has published four books, given over 300 talks in English, Portuguese, and French, and has built one of the largest sailing communities on social media. In 2025, she was also awarded the Young Voyager Award by the Cruising Club of America.
